Parent Educator Core Training

Currently all trainings are conducted on a virtual platform and

consist of a combination of self-paced assignments and live class meetings.

Foundational and Model Implementation

This certification training lays the foundation for the Parents as Teachers approach to home visitation within an early childhood system and is designed for programs that meet the requirements for affiliation. Model Implementation Training incorporates the Parents as Teachers Quality Assurance Guidelines and offers implementation strategies that help your organization fully understand and bring to life quality Parents as Teachers services. The training is presented by expert trainers who emphasize reflective practice and hands on learning. 

Tuition for the Foundational training includes access to the online PAT Foundational Curriculum for one year.

To attend this training, your organization must have a completed and approved affiliate plan. 

 

Participants who successfully complete the Foundational and Model Implementation training become model certified Parent Educators.

Foundational Training

 

Parent educators and other family support professionals learn to effectively use the Foundational Curriculum as they work with families to partner, facilitate, and reflect. Both the training and curriculum cover children’s growth and development from before birth to age three, parenting behaviors, and family well-being topics.

Tuition for the Foundational training includes access to the online PAT Foundational Curriculum for one year.

Model Implementati​on

Model Implementation Training follows and builds on Foundational Training and is designed for parent educators and supervisors whose programs meet the requirements for affiliation.

 

This training offers implementation strategies that help your organization fully understand and bring to life quality Parents as Teachers services.

Foundational 2 Curriculum: 

Three years to kindergarten

 

This interactive training gives participants a better understanding of what it means to partner, facilitate and reflect with parents whose children are growing in independence and abilities as they approach school entry. It includes topics such as approaches to learning, neuroscience, child development, developmental concerns, transitions to early care and education and family engagement.

 

Tuition for the Foundational training includes access to the online PAT Foundational 2 Curriculum for one year.

To attend this training, your must have completed the Foundational Training or Foundation and Model Implementation Training.
